Cinnamon Roll Apple Wellington



●      2 and ¾ cups all-purpose flour

●      3 tbs granulated sugar

●      1 teaspoon salt

●      1 package instant yeast

●      ¾ cup milk

●      2 tbs unsalted butter + ¼ cup softened

●      1 large egg

●        2 tbs ground cinnamon

●        ¼ cup brown sugar


●        4 apples, peeled, cored and cut into chunks

●      2 tbs sultanas

●      1 cinnamon stick

●      1 tbs unsalted butter

●      2 tbs honey

●      2 tbs sugar

●      1 star anise




Step 1

Make dough: Mix the flour, the sugar, salt, and yeast together, in a large bowl. Heat milk and 2 tbs of butter together until the butter is melted and stir into the flour mixture. Add the egg and knead until the dough is no longer sticky. Set aside and rest for about 15. minutes.

Step 2

 Roll the dough out in a rectangle and spread the softened butter on top. Mix sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle all over the dough. Roll up tightly and cut into 9 piece. Place over parchment paper, into a rectangular pan, cover with a kitchen cloth and rest for about 30 minutes.

Step 3

 Put the apples in a large pan with butter, sugar and honey. Add sultanas, cinnamon stick and star anise and cook, stirring occasionally, until dry. Let refrigerate to room temperature.


Step 4

Roll the dough, cover with the filling and roll up tightly. Preheat the oven to 200ºC and bake for about 20 minutes.
